There are also real steam trains at Alresford with the Watercress Line running a full timetable with usually three engines in steam.

For those who wish to bring their other halves, Alresford is a lovely town to spend a few hours in with a wonderful river walk and plenty of dress shops and refreshment outlets.

How to get here

 Alresford is a wonderful Georgian Market town. Those not interested in trains can enjoy an hour or two with plenty of interesting shops and local walks. The High Street is only 100 yards from the School entrance and has three pubs, two local hotels and four restaurants catering for all types of taste. You will also find a local fish and chip shop, Chinese takeaway and a Pizza Express. Further details of the town and district can be found on the Alresford web site
 

The local station of the Mid-Hants Preserved Steam Railway the Watercress Line, is only a 5 minute walk away
